Yes, as the title says, there is a boat made out of plastic water bottles. This boat, called Plastiki, is made completely out of plastic bottles and recycled waste products. They plan to sail this boat starting in August 2009. When it is complete, Plastiki will be comprised of 12,500 2-liter plastic bottles that have been collected by Waste Management. The whole boat will end up weighing 9 tons and will support a team of 6 crew members.
The boat also has a composting toilet on board, renewable energy, and a garden.

Teaching Kids to Be Green
by Bea March 18th, 2009 | Easy Ideas, Recycle, Reduce, Reuse
Though some you may be doubting this, it's not too late! We can still change the world and save it from being polluted, wasted, and destroyed.
I believe that one of the most important things that one can do is ingrain good living habits into the children of the time. If a child is not encouraged to fold up a cereal box and put it in the paper recycling bin rather than just throw it in the trash, then he most likely will continue to throw boxes in the trash! SIGG Bottles
by Bea March 3rd, 2009 | Easy Ideas, Reuse
You may have seen the growing trend of stainless steel bottles. When people found out that Nalgenes commonly were made out of plastic number 7--a plastic that could give off BPA-- many people started using stainless steel bottles or other plastic bottles. Some of you may think that these stainless steel bottles were a brand new innovation--that people have not been using these bottles. However, this is not true.

Keep it at home
Hosting a New Year’s Eve party at home is the first step to keeping it green. You’ll be reducing transportation emissions by encouraging carpools and having them stay over at your place afterward. They won’t have to worry about traffic, which could cause more transportation emissions. You’ll be saving money, of course, since you won’t have to spend enormous amounts of it (and

How Eco-friendly Are You?
by Valerie Mae Diola November 25th, 2008 | Recycle, Reduce, Reuse
For me, being eco-friendly does not mean only buying or using eco-friendly products that are available in the market, it also means doing every possible thing to help the environment. I have made a handy checklist for you to know how eco-friendly you are:
1. Are you consuming less?
Be it in energy or water consumption, consuming less is very important. Turn off appliances that are not in use, and save water, if possible. Consuming less, for me, also means spending less and reusing more. When my husband and I would like to buy something from a nearby grocery store, we just
